Day 1: Nairobi

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, you are met by a Nature Expeditions representative and transferred to the hotel. All meals are on their arrangements. Overnight at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages [Bed and Breakfast]

Day 2: Nairobi / Amboseli

After breakfast, you are transferred to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Amboseli National Park, located to the southeast of Nairobi. The Park is famous for its big game and scenic beauty with the landscape dominated by Mt. Kilimanjaro. Despite the appearance, there is a continuous supply of water that gets filtered through volcanic rocks from Kilimanjaro’s melted snow. These streams flow underground, creating lush green areas, and converge at two clear water springs in the park. On arrival, you are met by the camp representative and transferred with a game drive en route to arrive in time for lunch. Day 3: Amboseli

Spend a further day in the park on morning and afternoon game-viewing drives in a shared vehicle. Wildlife here includes the zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, caracal and serval cat, lion, leopard, cheetah, and buffalo among others. There are also over 400 species of birds, including the bee-eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle, martial eagle, and pygmy falcon. Visitors mainly come to watch the huge herds of elephants. The bull elephants have some of the largest tusks in all of Kenya. Visitors can also enjoy excellent views of Mt Kilimanjaro and Meru. All meals and overnight at Tawi Lodge (package)

Day 4: Amboseli / Samburu

After breakfast, you are transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport. On arrival, connect with your scheduled flight to Samburu Game Reserve, within the land of the colourful Samburu people, close relatives of the Maasai, and harbors several wildlife species found only north of the equator. On arrival, you are met by the camp representative and transferred with a game drive en route arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing drives in a shared vehicle until sunset. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp is home to a wide variety of animal and birdlife. Dinner and overnight at Sasaab (package)

Day 5: Samburu

Spend the day in the Reserve where game viewing and visibility are excellent. Bird life is superb with over 380-recorded species and game which includes reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, elephants, Oryx, Somali ostrich, hippos, crocodiles, gerenuk, buffaloes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. Scenically, for most of the year, Samburu is under the unsympathetic equatorial sun. Relief comes from the Ewaso Ng’iro River which rises some hundreds of kilometers to the west on the foothills of the Aberdares and vanishes beyond Samburu in the recess of the Lorian swamp. Day 6: Samburu / Maasai Mara

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Maasai Mara Game Reserve, so named to mean the “spotted plains” in Maa language. This is home to the greatest concentration of large mammals and is widely recognized as Africa’s ultimate wildlife reserve. The park is the northern extension of the vast Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, famous for its annual migration of wildebeest. On arrival, you are met by your host and transferred to the Camp arriving for lunch. Afternoon games drive in a shared vehicle until sunset. Dinner and overnight at Sanctuary Olonana (package)

Days 7: Maasai Mara

During your stay, you have the opportunity to explore this great reserve in depth. You may see elephants, giraffes, pride of lions, and thousands of impalas, topi, grants, and Thomson’s gazelle. Birds are prolific including immigrants, 450 bird species have been recorded among them 57 birds of prey. The Mara is the scene of the annual migration of millions of wildebeest up from the Serengeti plains in search of water and grasses. While in Mara, you have the option to float above the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem on board a hot air balloon followed by a gourmet champagne breakfast (Option at an extra cost). Day 8: Maasai Mara / Nairobi / Depart

After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport. On arrival, you are met by a Nature Expeditions representative for transfer to JKIA for your outbound flight.
